Cécile Tremblay's 2011 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beamonts is aging very gracefully, wafting from the glass with a youthful bouquet of red-black cherries, smoked duck and a creamy framing of new oak. On the palate, the wine is medium-full, ample and expansive, with velvety tannins and succulent acids, and while it is quite structurally open-knit, I would anticipate that it will continue to develop for over a decade. - WA

Total finesse defines the 2011 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaumonts. Silky tannins provide the backdrop as layers of deeply spiced, balsamic-inflected fruit blossom in the glass. The ripeness of the vintage is quite evident, but at the same time, there is more than enough freshness to balance things out. The round, inviting finish makes the Beaumonts nearly impossible to resist. - VM

Here again there is a pungent combination of wood and reduction that renders the nose impossible to fairly evaluate. Like the Vosne villages there is a very sophisticated mouth feel thanks to the very fine-grained tannins and mineral-lift of the middle weight flavors that possess a saline character on the balanced, linear and persistent finish. This is quite serious and while notably ripe, it will require at least a decade of cellar time for this to reach its full apogee. - BH
